Local Girl Scouts Celebrate Earth Day with WRWMG

Sunday, April 30, 2017

K through 12th grade Girls Scouts from the Wallkill Valley Service Unit (Ogdensburg, Hamburg, Hardyston, and Franklin) recently assisted the Wallkill River Watershed Management Group with tree planting along the Paulins Kill River, helping to extend the 4 mile reforestation corridor that adjoins the Sussex Branch Trail. Despite the muddy conditions at the site, the girls and their parents embraced the day, working hard to plant the native trees along the river to improve the health of the Paulins Kill.
