Pope John Middle School Learns about Stormwater Management

Tuesday, August 22, 2017

The Pope John Middle School Robotics Club recently worked with the WRWMG to learn how to properly manage stormwater on the school’s campus. Through hands-on science labs and a stormwater walk around the building, students were able to see how stormwater flows across the parking lot after rainstorms and brainstorm steps the school could take to reduce the volume of polluted stormwater that enters local water bodies.

This field day built upon an educational lesson about pollution that the WRWMG gave to these same students back in July, helping to strengthen their knowledge of protecting watershed health.  The WRWMG looks forward to exploring potential stormwater project opportunities with these students throughout the 2017-2018 school year.
