Wednesday, November 29, 2017

The Arbor Day Foundation and its members and corporate donors recently partnered with the Sussex County Municipal Utilities Authority-Wallkill River Watershed Management Group to purchase live whips to plant along the Wallkill River in Sparta Township, helping to expand the SCMUA-WRWMG’s Wallkill River reforestation corridor that has been established with assistance from Sparta High School and Sparta Middle School students and staff. Thus far, 944 students have become involved in the planting effort and the number will continue to rise throughout 2018 as the Arbor Day Foundation trees are planted on the site.

The Arbor Day Foundation is a million-member nonprofit conservation and education organization with a mission to inspire people to plant, nurture, and celebrate trees.
