Selective Insurance Employees Plant Trees on State-Owned Land

Thursday, May 17, 2018

Selective Insurance employees recently spent the day planting over 400 trees and shrubs with the staff of The Nature Conservancy and the SCMUA-Wallkill River Watershed Management Group.

The trees were planted on state-owned land adjacent to the Paulins Kill River. TNC and the Wallkill River Watershed Management Group are reforesting properties along the river in order to help improve water quality. The trees will provide shade along the water, cooling the water temperature and providing habitat for animals on land and in the water. The forested tree buffer will also help block polluted runoff from entering the river, helping to keep the Paulins Kill clean!
