Maintenance Activities Continue Along Paulins Kill Forested Buffer

The SCMUA-Wallkill River Watershed Management Group has been conducting maintenance on its Paulins Kill tree planting sites. Part of bi-annual maintenance has been removing plastic tree shelters and stakes from mature trees that were planted along the Paulins Kill River in 2014. Shelters can be removed when trees have an approximately 3” diameter, meaning that they will be large enough to survive deer rubbing their antlers against the trunk of the tree.
