#CelebrateRivers on World Rivers Day: Sunday, September 27, 2020

Thursday, September 24, 2020

Did you know that the Paulins Kill River is part of the #DelawareRiver Watershed, which spans New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware & provides drinking water for more than 13 million people?

The Delaware River extends 330 miles from the confluence of its East and West branches at Hancock, NY to the mouth of the Delaware Bay in NJ and DE. While many Delaware River Basin residents may not live close to or identify with the main stem of the Delaware River, the river is fed by 216 major tributaries that criss-cross communities in NY, PA, NJ, and DE.

Recognized annually on the fourth Sunday of September, World Rivers Day is a celebration of the world's waterways. It highlights the many values of rivers and strives to increase public stewardship of rivers around the world.

On Sunday, September 27, organizations within the Delaware River Basin are coming together for a social media day of action to raise awareness about the essential resources and services the Delaware River and its tributaries provide for the region.
