Rain Garden Enhancement at Swartswood State Park

Tuesday, November 03, 2020

The WRWMG worked with Swartswood State Park to enhance the multiple rain gardens installed around the state park's parking lot. Each basin was planted with native shrubs and flowering plants (like blue flag iris, buttonbush, and winterberry holly) in order to help naturally treat the polluted water that runs off of the paved parking lot after a rainstorm. This will prevent polluted stormwater from flowing into the lake.
