Halsted Students Clean Up Litter at Memory Park

Wednesday, April 13, 2022

The WRWMG Education Specialist organized a litter clean up at Newton’s Memory Park with the 6th grade students at Halsted Middle School. Approximately 65 students from the school heard a presentation about how non-point source pollution impacts the Paulins Kill River and then had an opportunity to pick up litter in the park using supplies provided by Sussex County Clean Communities. In total, 6 bags of garbage and 11 bags of recycling were collected throughout the park which will help prevent the litter from entering the nearby Paulins Kill River that flows through the park.
