McKeown School Students Help Mulch Rain Garden

Tuesday, May 31, 2022

Hampton Township students in the 5th and 6th grade helped the WRWMG perform maintenance on the McKeown School rain garden by pulling weeds and spreading mulch throughout the garden. The rain garden was installed on the McKeown School campus in October 2016 as a stormwater management project that would collect the runoff that flows across the school’s rooftop. The rain garden helps reduce pollution by filtering out pollutants like road salt, fertilizer, and pesticide that would otherwise end up entering the nearby Paulins Kill River that is located across the street from the school.
