Halsted Middle School Students Work on Rain Garden

Newton middle school students enrolled in the Summer STEAM program worked with the WRWMG's Education and Outreach Specialist as part of a maintenance day to weed the rain garden that was installed at the school in summer 2019. The rain garden collects rainwater off of the school's paved parking lot, helping to prevent pollutants like motor oil and road salt from flowing into the storm drains and the nearby Paulins Kill River.
