Sparta Earth Day Fair is a Huge Success!

Sparta Environmental Commission and Sparta Middle School organized an Earth Day Fair on Saturday, April 22nd outside of the Sparta Municipal Building for Sussex County families to celebrate Earth Day. The event consisted of a series of 12 different exhibitors who tabled at the event, including the SCMUA, NJ Forest Fire Service, Sussex County Beekeepers Association, Avian Wildlife Center, Native Plant Society, Sparta Parks and Recreation, Friends of the Wallkill River National Wildlife Refuge, Sussex County Bird Club, Skylands Sierra Club, Winter4Kids, Sparta Food Pantry, author Sam Rush, and musician Steve Coombs.

Students from Sparta Middle School, Sparta High School, and Pope John High School led upcycled crafting stations and interactive story time to teach attendees about reducing their impact on the natural environment.
