Lake Owassa Residents Perform Maintenance on Floating Treatment Wetland

Lake Owassa homeowners recently worked with the SCMUA-WRWMG to conduct annual maintenance on the floating treatment wetlands that was deployed at Lake Owassa in September. The volunteers replaced damaged goose fencing and reattached the cables that were dislodged over the winter from ice damage. The island is now back in the lake and is helping to absorb nutrients from the water that cause harmful algal blooms.
