AmeriCorps NJ Watershed Ambassadors Participate in Riparian Reforestation Training

The 2024-2025 class of AmeriCorps NJ Watershed Ambassadors recently came to Brookside Park in Sussex Borough to participate in a tree planting day organized by the SCMUA-Wallkill River Watershed Management Group. AmeriCorps NJ Watershed Ambassadors are serving in every corner of New Jersey and are responsible for organizing partnership projects in their assigned watersheds, so this event provided them with a better understanding of the level of investment required to successfully execute their own tree planting projects during their 10-month terms of service. During the Brookside Park tree planting event, the watershed ambassadors planted a total of 136 trees, helping to beautify the park and purify the adjacent Clove Brook.
