High Point Students Battle the Heat on Rain Garden Maintenance Day

Environmental science students at High Point Regional High School battled the heat on their recent rain garden maintenance day and helped spread 5 yards of hardwood mulch on the school’s rain garden. Rain gardens are stormwater management projects that collect runoff from paved parking lots or rooftops in order to prevent pollution (fertilizer, pesticide, road salt, motor oil, sediment, etc.) from entering nearby streams and harming wildlife.
