Tree Tube Recycling is a Success!
Wednesday, August 20, 2025

This summer, the SCMUA-Wallkill River Watershed Management Group and The Nature Conservancy have recycled 2,905 pounds of polypropylene tree tubes from their joint Paulins Kill River reforestation project. Tree tube removal and recycling is an exciting stage in the reforestation process because it signifies that the trees have grown large enough to survive on their own. Since the recycling effort first began, a total of 4,394 pounds of polypropylene have been recycled with TerraCycle.
